The Resolution that Promises Renewal

January 2, 2018

Brodie Croyle, Executive Director

"Very early in the morning while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed." Mark 1:35

If Jesus recognized a need for time alone with God, then most certainly, all of us need it. Jesus made His time with the Father a priority because He needed the nourishment it provided. But more importantly, He wanted to be in complete obedience, actively placing God in His rightful place - first. What a blessing the life of Christ is to us, so that we have an example of how to live an obedient, fruitful life.

As we make resolutions and plan for the journey of 2018, how comforting to know God goes ahead of our day, our week, our month, our year. And if we allow Him to work within us, He will. Each of us are extremely busy but let’s intentionally put God in His place in our lives. Let’s allow Him to rule every decision, every thought. Let’s resolve to spend more time with Him, actively seeking His will in our lives. Let’s spend time on our knees on behalf of our families. Let’s leave our past in the past and embrace all that God is going to renew in us this new year.
