Prayer Support The true source of our power and ability to effect positive changes in our children's lives is your consistent prayers. Please pray daily for our staff and children. "And the Lord said to Moses, ‘Is the Lord's power limited? Now you shall see whether My word will come true for you or not.'" Numbers 11:23.
Monthly Support Consistent gifts on a monthly basis from friends like you are the bedrock of our annual operating budget. Gifts of $25, $50, $100 or more help with our daily need for food, clothing, education, and medical needs throughout the year. This can be made in the form of a check through the mail, or we have the ability to draft your bank account on a regular basis. Memorial/Honor Program You may honor special friends or relatives on special occasions and we'll send an appropriate letter to the one you have honored. The memorial program gives you the opportunity to honor a deceased loved one or friend and we'll send appropriate acknowledgements of your gift (not the amount) as you direct. Because these gifts require special and additional handling, we ask that a minimum gift of $25 for each memorial or honorarium be considered. We do not add personalized messages such as: Congradulations on your 65th birthday, etc. Our letter merely states that a gift has been made in honor of or in memory of an individual.
Big 12 Club Your membership in the Big 12 Club covers the cost of raising one of our children for one full year. Each member pledges $12,000 over a one year period (usually paid in increments of $1,000 per month) to be added to our operating budget. Resource and Relief Parenting Program Each month our houseparents get one weekend off beginning on Friday and ending on Sunday evening. During this time, we rely on volunteers who are willing to help us take care of our children. We pair each child with a couple who is willing to keep him or her one weekend every three months. This is called the child's "Resource Family." Relief parenting involves coming to the Ranch one weekend from Friday evening until Sunday evening every third month. Relief parents provide time off for the houseparents by actually "moving in" for the weekend. Making a Difference Now and Beyond One day John and Tee will retire, and God will decide upon their replacement. Our plan is to have our already established "Big Oak Endowment" as strong as possible so those called to carry Big Oak into the next generation will be able to place more focus on caring for children, and have the income from the Endowment fund as an additional source of perpetual support.
